This category comprises reclaimed doors with three or more panes of glass over one or more solid panels, the glazed portion is generally no more than half of the total door. This pattern has been particularly popular in the 20th Century, especially the Edwardian period. The style is particularly suitable for doors that need to combine letting in a lot of light with strength and security. Although the panels of glass tend to be square, this isn't always the case. A very popular type of door is the Bristol Casement door, which combines one or more large central panes with narrow panes to the perimeter and squares in the corners, the perimeter areas often have coloured glass.
