From the Latin capa, coping is the capping or covering on a wall. Its main purpose is to drain water away and protect walls from weather damage, but it also makes an attractive finishing feature. The surface will have some form of slope – once weathered refers to a slope one way and twice weathered, such as the triangular coping we have for sale, slopes in two directions.
