Antique pine surround with fluted ionic columns outside the dog-leg jambs and a corniced mantel shelf. The deep frieze has four identical panels with ribbon tied swags / garlands and paterae above and miniature fluted pillars in between the panels. Overall measurements are given below and opening is 99cm wide and 98cm high. Jambs are 15cm wide at base [exluding the insert] and 19cm deep.
