Imposing 19th Century fire surround carved from limestone mined in Burgundy. The lintel is decorated with an elegant female mask, or mascaron, surrounded by acanthus leaves. Rosettes are carved above repeated acanthus leaves adorning the jambs. The opening is 87cm wide x 78cm high. A few chips to edges, including two along the mantel shelf, commensurate with age.
