Reclaimed 19th Century cast iron fire basket with a tall back plate depicting a central winged cherub / angel figure holding a large cross and shield. The brass front has urns, lions and scroll decoration, with beaded borders, adding to the quality feel and look of the fire.
The back plate has a crack running across the bottom left hand corner, the brass left hand arm needs tightening and the front grate bars are slightly pitted. Possibly converted to gas at some point, untested.
We would recommend a qualified engineer check and install this if gas fitting is required.
