Marble statue depicting a boy sat on a rocky outcrop with his dog jumping at his side, on a circular base. The statue is signed C Summers, Rome. Charles Francis Summers, born in 1857, son of English sculptor Charles Summers who had a studio in Rome. The style of this piece is similar to the neoclassical style of sculptor Giovanni Maria Benzoni. The younger Charles worked closely with Benzoni at the studio in Rome. Weathering, forefinger is missing and there is a small amount of damage to the base. Plinth shown in photos not included.
