Reclaimed old stone boundary marker with what looks to be S M P carved into the arched top. This marker is reputedly part of the St Mark Redcliffe Pipe Walk which is an annual tradition dating from 1190 when Robert de Berkeley donated water to the people of Knowle in Bristol. New participants on the walk are traditionally 'bumped' on marker stones that record the route of the pipe. More information can be found here. Weathering, lichen and moss as expected with age.
