A magnificent antique French limestone Trumeau / overmantle fire surround. Natural grey stone with a slight yellowish hue throughout. Carved diamond shaped central motif and fluted ends to mantle. Pillar effect to trumeau / overmantle sides and cornice to top. Comes in 17 pieces. Measurements given are the maximum overall. Actual depth when fitted into a wall would be approximately 54cm. Internal measurements 136.5cm wide x 104cm high. Legs / jambs 14cm wide. The surround could be adjusted to fit flat against a wall by altering the relevant pieces.
Commensurate with age and use there are some scratches, hairline cracks and dints to edges.
