Authentic cast iron coat of arms plaque for the Netherlands. The coat of arms was first adopted in 1815 and later modified in 1907. It features a chequered shield with a lion grasping a sword and seven arrows; representing the seven provinces of the Union of Utrecht. The shield is topped with the Dutch royal crown and supported by two lions. The lions stand on a scroll that reads "Je Maintiendrai" meaning "I shall remain" in French. This particular version of the crest is used by the government. One of the lions is missing the tip of it's tail. Some genuine signs of wear.
