Beautiful antique painted and stained glass window depicting an elaborately framed Sir Francis Drake in his armour. With two large decorative medallions hanging by a purple ribbon either side of Sir Francis Drake, finishing towards the bottom of the panel with purple ribbon swag and tails framing a bunch of berries, or grapes. On an eau de nil coloured background.
Sir Francis Drake (c.1540 - 1596) was an Elizabethan sailor, navigator, and the first English person to circumnavigate the globe!
The overall sill width is 200cm, the window width is 184cm and the width of the spurs is 198cm. The overall height is 208cm, the depth of the sill is 15.5cm and depth of window frame is 7cm
One eau de nil coloured glass panel has a crack, there are also nails, nail holes and some wear to the wooden frame, otherwise good condition.
