Fine pair of Amberg's Edwardian oak letter file cabinets comprising a stack of 15 drawers with oval plaques inset on front with panelled edges, with pull out shelves for ease of filing. Original paper still inside the spring clip drawers, some also have original "Amberg's Patent Indexes". Cameron Amberg & Co. was established in 1868 and made its first Cabinet Letter Files in 1875, when they won an award from the American Institute, New York. In 1876 its Cabinet Letter Files were awarded a medal at the Centennial Exposition. By 1893 the company name changed to Amberg Letter & File Co.
Lovely condition, possibly joined together as holes down the side of units.
